About Us

For over a decade, Greater Bridgeport Pride has woven a rich tapestry of progress, unity, and resilience throughout our community. From courageous beginnings to remarkable achievements, our fourteen year journey has been a testament to the transformative power of art, social justice, compassion and community.

Founded by local Queer Artist Ricky Mestre and Suzanne Kachmar of City Lights Gallery with a vision of fostering inclusion and diversity, we have dedicated ourselves to creating a brighter future for Bridgeport and the Greater Bridgeport area. As a diverse collective of community members and allies, our mission is clear: to cultivate a safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQIA+ individuals through year-round programming, activism, art, music, and joyous celebrations.

Our commitment to advocacy and empowerment is reflected in our weekly meetings, held every other Wednesday. We invite you to join us as we continue to uplift our community and champion the values of acceptance and equality. Together, we can build a more inclusive and vibrant Bridgeport.
